What Routes We Offer
We are proud to be working as a delivery partner with Teach First to provide a School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme.
During your one-year course, you will be in our schools from day one and trained by our team of expert facilitators, highly skilled mentors, and subject specialists.
As a trainee, you will spend a majority of the week interacting with pupils and working as a member of teaching staff in a school local to you. During your study day you will engage in a supportive theoretical programme to ensure you have the knowledge, understanding and implementation skills to thrive.
On successful completion of our programme, you will be awarded qualified teacher status (QTS) and postgraduate certificate in education.
University School-Centered Initial Teacher Training Route
We offer creative routes into teaching through our collaboration with NITE as part of Coventry University. As a lead partner we recruit Design and Arts secondary subjects within a school centered provision.
As you are based in schools from the start, you can experience teaching in outstanding facilities from fully equipped theatres and recording studios to workshops.
This is a one-year course which enables you to train and develop your knowledge, understanding and skills within schools supported by specialist faculties and practitioners. Theory is delivered through online seminars and implemented with support from your mentor in lessons.
At the end of our programme, you’ll be awarded qualified teacher status (QTS) and a postgraduate certificate in education.
University Routes
Teach For LiFE is proud to be a lead partner for the University of Leicester and Loughborough University routes in Teacher Training. Both institutions offer outstanding provision where knowledge and understanding is front loaded within a university setting allowing you to implement your practice during two school placements. This is where you will explore and develop your skills and embed your character for a career in teaching.
